Our Work in Data Analysis & Data-driven Processes
Case Studies From Past Projects
We help clients make sense of their data and explore new data sources where necessary – for interactive data tools, dashboards and data-driven research. Below you can find a selection of our data analytics projects.
Supporting outbreak analytics during the 2022/23 Mpox outbreak
For the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence, CPC Analytics worked with the WHO mpox team to accelerate the analysis and communication of data during the 2022 mpox multi-country outbreak. Our services spanned the entire analytics value chain, including data engineering, producing an interactive dashboard, conducting ad-hoc analyses, and authoring two academic journal articles (The Lancet, US CDC).
Quantitative Modeling of COVID-19 vaccine distribution in India
We built a quantitative, optimised model for distributing COVID-19 vaccines from the manufacturing facility to local distribution centres across all states in India. The model recognized India’s prioritization model as well as vulnerable populations based on regional and local data. The model’s outputs and implications were validated by experts (policy makers / agencies, supply chain experts).
TANGEDCO Data Analytics Project
In 2024, CPC Analytics collaborated with TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation) to develop and refine data models for analyzing LT billing and consumption data. This project aimed to generate Exception (Red Flag) Reports and identify revenue leakages in LT service connections, analyzing transaction data for approximately 3.3 crore LT consumers from 2021 onwards. This initiative highlights our expertise in data analytics and our commitment to enhancing operational efficiency for our clients from the public sector.
Bibliometric analysis on alcohol policies
In collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), CPC Analytics conducted a bibliometric analysis of academic publications on alcohol consumption, governance, harm, and control policies from 2010 to 2021. The analysis found that most research was conducted in high-income countries (HICs) by authors from these regions, with a predominant focus on alcohol consumption rather than its determinants. These findings highlight a need for more studies in lower-income and middle-income countries to better inform alcohol control policies. The resulting journal manuscript was published by BMJ in August 2022.
Analysis of Germany’s official development assistance
CPC Analytics provided data analysis services to German development and humanitarian NGOs, focusing on the analysis of Germany’s official development assistance (ODA) across the full spectrum of development cooperation sectors. We modeled a roadmap for sector-specific Official Development Assistance in close collaboration with the client, resulting in a comprehensive policy paper. This paper was published as an official VENRO study and presented to the newly elected Members of the Bundestag in 2021. An updated version was created and released in early 2023.
